Tests Do Not Make Diagnoses; Doctors Do! By Idongesit Okpombor

While technology advances, there seems to be a major decline in medical education, generally. By medical education, of course, I do not mean the university education or training of medical personnel. I rather mean the quantity of ADEQUATE medical information available to the common man.

Subsequently, because many do not have adequate information, they simply go with the flow. One of such is the fact that once a test result is given, a person is made to believe that it is equated with some diagnosis of an ailment. But this isn’t true.

This is one of the reasons many patients abhor the thought of running a test to establish the proper diagnosis for some frequently presenting symptoms. This shouldn’t be so, either.

The truth is, a “positive test” does not always equal “a disease” and a “negative test” does not always equal “no disease.” The “positive test = disease” and “negative test = no disease” is a common trap that many have fallen into.

In essence, that a test comes out positive should not immediately give you a reason to worry. On the other hand, that a test comes out negative should not immediately give you a reason to discard the apparent symptoms and rest on your oars. The whole scenario and possible outcomes rise and fall on the experience of the consulting physician.

It is important to state that no test is 100% accurate. Therefore, it is essential when ordering a test that the attending physician has some knowledge of the test’s characteristics, as well as how to apply the test results to an individual patient’s clinical situation.

As an example, when a patient presents with chest pain, the first diagnostic concern for most doctors and patients is angina pectoris, that is, the pain of myocardial ischemia caused by coronary insufficiency.

However, in making the diagnosis of angina pectoris, the clinician must be able to establish whether the pain satisfies the three criteria for typical anginal pain:

(1) Retrosternal in location,

(2) Precipitated by exertion, and

(3) Relieved within minutes by rest or nitroglycerin.

Other factors such as the patient's age and some risk factors can then be taken into consideration.

To put this in perspective with this article, let us consider the example of a 21-year-old woman with chest pain that is not exertional and not relieved by rest or nitroglycerin.

This patient has a very low probability of coronary artery disease. Thus, any positive results on a cardiac stress test are very likely to be false positives. As a matter of fact, this test result is unlikely to change her management, and therefore, should not be obtained in the first place.

Consequently, if you were this 21-year-old woman, a positive test result on a cardiac stress test should not immediately give you reasons to worry. Your doctor should be able to analyze your situation properly and let you know that this test shouldn’t have been ordered in the first instance, and that any “positivity” indicated may not be applied to your situation.

The point here is that you shouldn’t immediately get engrossed with a positive test result and begin to worry unnecessarily, as the result is still subject to further scrutiny or clinical evaluation in the light of your presenting symptoms, health history, and other factors.

Let us consider another example of a 69-year-old diabetic smoker with a recent coronary angioplasty who presents with recurrent episodes of typical angina. Are there any reasons for this patient to relax from the negative result of a cardiac stress test? Of course, not.

With her history and presentation, it is clear that this might be the pain of myocardial ischemia. A negative cardiac stress test is likely to be falsely negative. Thus, the clinician should lay aside this test result and proceed directly to a coronary angiography to assess for a repeat angioplasty.

The whole point in this is, your doctor knows something about the characteristics of the test employed in your disease condition that you may not know. He also knows how to apply the test results to your present health circumstances to reach a correct diagnosis.

Do not run to a hasty conclusion based on your test result and dash off to a pharmacy store or begin to worry about the possible outcomes for your health. Always remember, “positive test = disease” and “negative test = no disease” is a common trap that you shouldn’t fall into. The analyses and diagnoses may be completely different from what the results say.

Tests do not make diagnoses; doctors do, considering test results quantitatively in the context of their clinical assessment.

How an Assistant Pastor Turned into a LIVE SNAKE During Church Service! By Evangelist Mercy Okom

"The Church is becoming too conducive for Satan and his agents. Let us beware, otherwise, if Satan is allowed to take over the Church, it will be difficult to dislodge him. " - Mercy Okom

I read in a Christian magazine about a genuine man of God who was invited by a fellow Minister to preach in his Church.

The Holy Spirit laid it in the heart of the Minister to lay hands on the Assistant Pastor's head and pray for her before preaching.

When the guest preacher made his intention known, the Assistant Pastor declined. After much persuasion from the host pastor, she reluctantly agreed.

Immediately the Minister's hand touched her head, she fell and turned into a big snake.

As the human snake tried to escape, the man of God commanded it to return to human form. It did. Then she left the Church in anger and locked herself up in her house for four days.

The pastor and other brethren broke into her house only to discover that the “sister snake” and her property had disappeared.

That night, the Minister's life was threatened by the queen of the coast. She came right into his bedroom in a stormy flood to warn him and ask him to leave the area.

The marine kingdom threatened him for disgracing a marine queen.

So, a marine queen was the Assistant Pastor of the Church. Can you imagine that?

But that is the Church for you.

So, who then are the ones to make up the End-Time Army of Christ to fight against the well-organized force of the devil?

Your House Helps Can Help You Spiritually! By Evangelist Mercy Okom

Children without parental care, such as house-helps, are particularly vulnerable to the enemy’s use. Unless they are arrested by God, they can become the enemy’s path of devastation to a family.

Some Christian women are callous. They do not realize that their maids and house-helps are also in God's plan. In Joel 2:29, servants and maids are included as partakers in the outpouring of the Holy Ghost in the end-time.

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Your maids can help you spiritually. If you give them the same care you give to your biological children, they can surprise you. The truth is, if they are not used by God, they will become part of Satan’s end-time army.

My first house-help got baptized in the Holy Spirit the same day I was. She became a “small” evangelist because thereafter, she was always going out with tracts.

This saved me from so many troubles. I did not bother to check whether she had a boyfriend or not, because the Holy Ghost was doing the work.

When I got married, coping with schooling and care for a set of twins (which God blessed us with) was not easy.

I prayed earnestly and God sent to us a young zealous young lady who was looking for godly parents to train her in the way of the Lord.

Today, she is a vessel in the Hands of the Lord and also very useful in deliverance work and Ministry.

By the grace of God, we train everyone in our house to become a member of the end-time army, and I extend this advice to every woman.

If you treasure your family, see that you also give time, love, and care towards the physical and spiritual well-being of your house-helps.

Do Not Underestimate Any Child! By Evangelist Mercy Okom

A woman from one of the northern states of Nigeria came to us for counseling, looking very frustrated. She complained that her daughter's clothes were always soaked in oil. She got tired of beating her daughter and decided to seek medical advice, all to no avail.

The doctors initially thought it was a case of rape but it was later discovered that the oil was usually emitted from her anus. The girl was prayed for, and she was healed.

Having seen the manifestation of God's power, the woman decided to reveal her real chronic problem. Her first daughter had been initiated into marine witchcraft (A marine witch is a person who has been initiated into both marine and witchcraft cults).

The woman disclosed that she had gone to many places in search of respite. As a former Muslim, she had consulted many Mallams. Ironically, the daughter kept on telling her parents that their religion could not help them and suggested that they take her to where strong prayer can be offered. She was later brought to us for prayer, but it was not easy.

She confessed that she had been advised by her group to run away but the power of God arrested her. During her deliverance, she fought us like a lion. The Lord revealed that a woman (human spirit) was living inside her.

She later confirmed that when her gang leader died, she was promoted and the woman’s spirit and power were transferred into her because she used to carry out her assignments perfectly. She always performed the assignments that adults feared to carry out.

She sold her parents' fortune for the throne. She told us that her Dad would have owned twelve storey buildings and about eight cars but she sold his stars to her spirit mistress. The spirit mistress, in turn, gave them to her brother who stayed at Lagos.

Things were so bad with this family that they literally begged to eat. Her grandmother who was a rich businesswoman was also reduced to nothing. The grandmother’s crime was that she used to send things to her daughter (the possessed lady’s mum).

This possessed lady told us that she wanted her parents to feel the pains of poverty, so, whoever tried to help them became her enemy. She gave her father's right hand to the marine witchcraft cult to demote her father from an engineering worker to a casual labourer.

After her deliverance, she told us that God took her to the spirit realm to see her former estate. Her overall leader was sitting in a mud house with a Ghana-must-go (a cargo bag) instead of the mansion she used to occupy.

The reason for the change, according to her, was that during her deliverance, the power of God stripped her of the houses and property and returned them to their rightful owners. Indeed, during her deliverance, she was asked to release the people and property that she had tied.

God has the power to transform any life. This lady is now a prayer warrior, an end-time soldier who has challenged her entire family.

Do not underestimate any child. We have read of the Liberian children soldiers who are as dangerous as the adult soldiers. They are taken from their parents at a very early age and fed with hemp and drugs, which tend to alter their emotions and psychology. Human lives mean nothing to them. If you pity them, you become a corpse because they have been trained to kill.

Physical and spiritual truths are parallel. We use the physical to understudy and understand the spiritual. From my personal experience in the deliverance Ministry, children's deliverance is very difficult to maintain. They can be delivered today and tomorrow are lured again through a piece of meat or biscuit. Unless an adult is ready to stand in the gap till the danger period is over, the deliverance does not last.

Parents must pay close attention to what is going on in their children's lives, even in the Church. As parents, we must listen to our children, because, a lot of times, they understand what they're going through, even better than we parents do.

I have detailed most of these occurrences in my book, GOD’S END-TIME ARMY. You can request a free copy HERE or purchase one for yourself HERE.
